The Enchanted Wood The Treeway Reading Series, Cloke Rene : Graham-Vine F E
18 Cloke Rene : Graham-Vine F E The Enchanted Wood The Treeway Reading Series
London A. Brown & Sons, Limited 1939 Original Wraps Good Rene Cloke
Undated (date 1939 suggested by COPAC). The Enchanted Wood, Book 3a of the Treeway Reading Series. Early Reader. Very scarce book beautifully illustrated by Rene Cloke, 3 full page illustrations in shades of orange, black and white plus illustrated endpapers, 28 small in-text illustrations in black and white or orange and white. This is an old school book with a school stamp on title page, grubby marks to several pages, also some creasing and small edge tears. Decorative linen wraps are also rather grubby. An early reader with a great deal of similarities to the The Enchanted Wood written by Enid Blyton. In this story Betty, Jack and Tom visit an enchanted wood near Mr. Robinson's farm. The children think the wood is a magic place with elves and fairies ruled by Titania, the Fairy Queen. 12375
