Anonymous My Sparkle Light Book - My Eyes and Lamps Light Up
London E.C..1 Sandle's 1940 Soft Cover Very Good
Vintage story book, undated c1940s? Oblong format 11.5 x 8.5" with 12 pages. Pictorial paper covers, staple binding. Front cover states - in the dark my lamps glow and my moving eyes sparkle and on back cover - my eyes move and sparkle my lamps light up in the dark, printed in the Netherlands No. 1675. The sparkle and glow appears to be achieved by the use of some kind of reflective paper not by battery or other mechanical means. Very pretty full page and half page colour illustrations. Each full page illustration has cut-outs so that the sparkling eyes and glowing lamps can be viewed. Short stories opposite each full page illustration explaining why each of the featured animals needs to build and use a different kind of vehicle (cars, trucks, fire engine) Paper a little age darkened, slight wear with a couple of tiny edge tears to covers else very good. England Holborn Series 1940 1st Edition Soft Cover Very Good No Jacket
Not dated c1940s? Very good illustrated paper wraps 9" x 5.5" with staple binding. 10 pages. Illustration on front cover shows a family of rabbits (9 small rabbits in dresses or jackets, a 'daddy' rabbit in long trousers, check shirt and glasses and a 'mummy' rabbit holding a baby rabbit with a dummy!) The text inside is all in green and each page is bordered in green with pink roses and has a picture of dressed rabbits (all in pink and green) no illustrators name given. The story begins - when Mr. Poppington-Rabbit decided to get married he went to Messrs. Frisky and Frisky, the best house agents in the district, and asked to be shown some desirable country places .... Staples rusty otherwise very good. 10730
