Reprint, 1969. SBN number 460050559. Good book in good price clipped dust jacket. 150 pages. 4 colour plates and black/white illustrations by Denys Watkins-Pitchford (BB). Circular stamp on verso of front free endpaper (smudged) otherwise very good condition. Cloth on boards has a very small frayed piece on bottom edge. Price clipped dust jacket is faded on spine and around edges, several small chips and tears. Fairy tales all relating to the adventures of a little girl called Snowflower and her grandmother's magical chair. When Snowflower sat in the chair and said "chair of my grandmother, take me to the highest banquet hall," the chair instantly marched in a grave and courtly fashion out of the kitchen, up the grand staircase, and into the highest hall." There it told the following stories to the king and queen, the fair lords and ladies, the many fairies, and notable people from other lands: The Christmas Cuckoo, The Lords of the White and Gray Castles, The Greedy Shepherd, The Story of Fairyfoot, The Story of Childe Charity, Sour and Civil, Prince Wisewit's return and The Story of Merrymind. 11357
