Reprint, 1959. Oblong paper boards (hardcover) 12.5" x 9.5", grey cloth spine. Board edges rubbed, corners bumped, spine tips starting to fray, boards also a little grubby. No previous owners name, few foxing spots else contents good+. Colour illustrations throughout. Slight musty smell. All through the summer in the Engadine Mountains of Switzerland the cattle feed in the mountain meadows, carrying bells round their necks. When they come into their sheds for the winter the bells are taken off. In March when winter is over, the Spring Festival comes, and the bells are rung in the village to celebrate. This is the story of Ursli, and of the adventure he has when the Spring Festival comes round and he decides that he is old enough to carry a big bell for the first time. 7031
