Cloth a little rubbed and soiled, spine faded. Slim book 136 pages some light foxing otherwise contents very good. Black and white plates and chapter headings by Gerard Sichel. Zamyl lived in an old mansion built of oak timber which had gradually decayed, and was riddled in all directions by fine burrows, which formed long, queer passages in the beams, the result of long centuries of insect labour. Zamyl had often been puzzled by these marks, and it so happened that just at the very top of his bed there was one of these holes, he pondered a good deal about the matter, and felt very interested in the unknown occupier of the hole, he looked, and looked again - it seemed to him that the hole was gradually getting larger whilst he himself grew smaller, until he quite thought he could walk right into it.
