London Cassell & Company 1944 Possible First UK Edition Hard Cover Very Good No Jacket Hans Fischer
Undated c1944 (price on back board seven shillings and sixpence). Originally published by Wolfsberg, Zurich, Switzerland. Possible 1st UK edition? Large slim book 12" x 8.5" with approximately 30 pages. Pictorial boards (hardcover) unevenly faded around edges also lightly rubbed on edges and a little soiled, red cloth spine. Pink and white illustrated endpapers. Previous owners name has been erased from 'this book belongs to box' but is still faintly visible. On a blank page at the back of the book a child has drawn a large house (in pencil and coloured crayons) complete with garden and gate! Otherwise contents very good. 10 full page colour illustrations, 2 double page spreads and lots of smaller drawings by Hans Fischer. 10732
