First published 1938 this a reprint 1942. Lithographed illustrations by the author, printed in colour throughout. Original pictorial wrappers (card covers), folio 14 x 10.5" with 32 pages. Covers worn on edges, ½ split to top of spine, small chip to tail, corners creased lots of small creases/ scratches to both front and back cover. Covers also a little soiled. Gift inscription inside front cover 'Michael wishing you many happy returns from mummy July 1943' Small corner creases/curls to most pages, small piece of bottom corner missing on title page and first page of text, long tear (about 5") across pages 5/6 . Some foxing and the odd finger mark. Fair. The illustrations are a joy. 10977

Very good book in good price clipped dustjacket. Reprint. Large format 14.5 x 10.5" with 32 pages. No previous owner's name, all pages clean, delightful colour illustrations. Very good picture boards lightly bumped on spine tips and corners. Price clipped dust jacket is a little worn and creased on edges, lightly rubbed on corners and spine tips, small red mark to top edge of upper panel, no tears. A camping holiday, the first of the Orlando books, introduces Orlando, his wife Grace, and their kittens, Blanche, Pansy and Tinkle, and tells the story of their family camping holiday in the country. 11161
