Marcie Muir traces the development of children's book illustrations from those first books to mention Australia, which were published in Europe in the late eighteenth century, through to beautifully produced picture books. Lavishly illustrated in colour and black and white. Bunyip Bluegum, Fatty Finn, Jack Harkaway, Ginger Meggs, Gumnut Babies, Blinky Bill, Banksia Men, Dot and the Kangaroo, plus the world of elves and fairies created by Ida Rentoul Outhwaite and many other familiar books.
