Undated c1950/60s? A 'Cosy Corner' book containing three fairy stories - Red Riding Hood, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Very good picture boards (front cover illustration by Rene Cloke) blue cloth spine, list of other 'cosy corner' books on back cover. 10 x 7.5" with 60 pages. Colour frontis by MWT (Margaret Tarrant) and sixty black and white illustrations by Nina K Brisley. Board edges a little rubbed, corners bumped, creasing to back board. No previous ownership marks, few small brown marks else contents very good. Scarce. 10913

Undated c1940s? Large hardback 11.5 x 9" with 74 pages. Good condition. 16 full page colour plates plus two-tone illustrations all by Margaret W. Tarrant. A collection of fairy stories and nursery rhymes including Cock Robin, Jack and the beanstalk, the three bears and Red Riding-Hood. Picture boards (hard cover) very rubbed on edges with some loss to the surface paper, large pictorial only to front cover with crease to one corner and small loss to another, also rather scratched, blue ink blob on one edge (not affecting the illustration, green cloth spine rubbed and bumped on ends. Paper over front hinge partly torn and split at foot with some loss, cracking between pages, binding slack but still holding, no previous owners name, some fingering to margins, tear to margin of one colour plate and the same plate is a little scratched - all other plates very good. 10875
