Very good book in very good unclipped dust jacket. Revised edition. Author's first book. 8 x 6.5" with 49 pages. Pretty illustrated endpapers and delightful colour and black/white illustrations (some full page) by Tasha Tudor. Unclipped dust jacket (8/6) is a little grubby and lightly worn on edges, few foxing spots. Orange cloth on boards with red lettering and decoration. No previous ownership marks, ffep very lightly browned, few handling marks else contents very good. Biggity the rooster is a very small rooster but this doesn't stop him being very fierce. 10334

Copyright date 1938 this edition believed to be c1958/60 published by Henry Z. Walck with 'Successor to Oxford Books for boys and girls' printed on turn-in flap of dust jacket.List of 'Calico Books' on rear turn-in ending with Pumpkin Moonshine. (Walk left Oxford University Press in 1958 and began issuing books with his own imprint. But he failed to renew copyright in the name of his new company. Instead, the company printed its copyright year as though it were the original Oxford edition) Library of Congress card No. 58-13228. Small format 4.5 x 4" with 38 pages. Price clipped dust jacket is a little grubby and very slightly rubbed on edges. Pretty blue/white spotted boards with red title and name of author to front. No name in 'this book belongs to' box, enchantingly illustrated in colour by Tasha Tudor. Pictorial endpapers. Small mark to edges of some pages else very good condition. Sylvia Ann wanted a Pumpkin Moonshine for Halloween so she started out to find the biggest pumpkin that she could.... 9706
