First edition in this format, hardback measuring 7.5" x 9.5",with pictorial boards depicting King Arthur riding a horse. Front cover and border design by G P Micklewright. The book is illustrated with colour plates of paintings by Rowland Wheelwright. Board edges rubbed with some loss of surface paper to corners, blue cloth spine a little age darkened. Gift inscription on ffep dated Xmas 1935. Some very minor foxing and paper a little age darkened but otherwise very good. 6 colour plates.
